Metro Hospitality Group’s flagship property, Metro Hotel Marlow Sydney Central, on the corner of Pitt and Campbell Streets in Sydney CBD, is actively targeting the ‘small meetings’ market following the recent refurbishment of its function room space.
The hotel’s General Manager, Mr Harry Leong, has identified a niche for a more flexible and intimate environment for people to hold meetings and other functions in the Sydney CBD.
“We are offering an affordable alternative to some of the city’s larger conference venues which can feel sparse and impersonal if you don’t have the numbers to fill them,” Mr Leong said.
“There are so many small businesses operating in the CBD which simply don’t have the space to host a small meeting or seminar in their office. That’s where we have seen significant demand and potential to grow our functions business.”
Metro Hotel Marlow Sydney Central offers three flexible function room options, which can be configured to suit a client’s needs. The Metro Function Room holds up to 250 people, with capacity to be set up banquet, theatre, cocktail, boardroom, U-shape and classroom style.
The Marlow Pitt Boardroom can seat up to 10 people, and the Marlow Campbell is a small function room with seating capacity for up to 30 guests theatre-style and 20 guests boardroom-style.
The Marlow Dining Room, including outdoor courtyard, can seat up to 220 guests. All function spaces can be booked any day of the week, subject to availability.
Mr Leong said that what started out as providing function space to a small number of regular clients has rapidly grown.
“In the past year alone, our function space has been used for product launches, training seminars, cooking demonstrations, end of year functions, fashion parades and wedding, engagement and anniversary receptions.
“We even have a local Church hiring the Metro Function Room on Sundays, so there really is nothing we can’t do! Mr Leong said.
For clients who require overnight accommodation, Metro Hotel Marlow Sydney Central offers 220 Deluxe and Superior guest rooms on 10 accommodation floors.
