Pet Friendly Holidays at Metro Inn Albany

Domestic house pets are now welcome to stay in rooms with their owners at Metro Inn Albany as the Inn extends the ‘welcome mat’ not just to travellers, but to their feathered and furry friends as well.
Albany is one of Western Australia’s most popular holiday destinations for families and couples seeking to enjoy the world-renowned whale and dolphin watching activities, as well as the rugged beauty of this south-west coastal inlet.
Set around the beautiful Princess Royal Harbour, the town offers a wide range of leisure activities for visitors and is a perfect base from which to visit the famous Margaret River wineries and the area’s spectacular beaches.
While families, couples and singles travelling to the region have previously been forced to stay in caravan parks with their pets or to leave their pets at home, Metro Inn Albany’s decision to go ‘pet friendly’ will mean people can now take their pets on holiday with them.
“What to do with your pet when you go on holidays can be one of the most stressful and time consuming decisions an owner has to make,” explains Metro Inn Albany Manager, Alan Scicluna. “Trying to find reliable family or friends who will take good care of your pet can be an arduous task and the cost of putting your dog or cat into a boarding kennel can be expensive.”
The Inn has changed its status to pet-friendly to provide travellers to Albany with the option of being able to bring their ‘best friend’ along with them.
And what about those people who don’t have pets, how will they be affected?
“In my experience, the inclusion of pets into a motel environment has many positive aspects for all guests which includes creating a more relaxed, friendly and homely feel during their stay”
And of course there are a few house rules:
• Pets are not allowed on beds or furniture
• Pets cannot be left in rooms unattended
• Pet bedding must be supplied by the owner
• Owners must bring bags, scoops and other equipment and clean up after their pets
• Pets must have collars with a current address and phone number
• Pets must be kept under control at all times
• Pets are not allowed in the pool and tennis court areas.
As Metro Inn Albany is a popular accommodation choice for families with its tennis court, indoor pool and spa, playground, covered BBQ facilities and licensed a-la-carte restaurant, it is expected that families and other holiday makers will be even more eager to stay at the Inn once they realise they can bring the family pet along.
With 60 rooms including a selection of standard and deluxe rooms and two and three bedroom units with fully equipped kitchens, and with all rooms having ensuite bathrooms, reverse cycle air-conditioning and access to in-house entertainment, many families and couples are expected to take advantage of the summer holidays to pay a visit to Albany and stay at the Metro Inn Albany.
