Local designers and retailers will take to centre stage at Metro Hotel Ipswich International on August 4 for the inaugural ‘Metro A La Mode’ Catwalk Fashion Parade.
Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale will open the event, which will showcase the latest creations from local designers Val Haala and Katie Lauren along with the new Spring ranges from local retailers including Little Dancer Boutique, Elly-Rae Fashions, City Beach, Corsets Hot, Dissh, Jay Jay’s, Just Jeans, Equip, Williams Shoes, Tarocash and more.
River 94.9’s ‘Goldie’ will play host for the evening, with plenty of entertainment on offer from visiting entertainers such as:
- DJ and Ralph Magazine model Sarah Robertson;
- Forest Lake 2009 Battle of the Bands Winner ‘Conversations Kill’;
- African percussionist Austin King; and
- Tiger Belly Dancers.
Metro Hotel Ipswich International General Manager Alex van Kersen said the fashion parade was a wonderful way of showcasing the enormous amount of local talent and fashion available in Ipswich while also providing a great excuse for a night of entertainment for all.
“Ipswich is fortunate to have so much wonderful fashion on offer but we also enjoy getting together for a great night out,” he said. “The Metro A La Mode Catwalk Fashion Parade has been put together to provide great entertainment for everyone and is sure to be a night of fun, great fashion and music with something for everyone!”
Mr van Kersen said next year the hotel would connect the catwalk parade with the Ipswich Festival, creating its own Fashion Festival segment. However, he said this year’s stand-alone event was still sure to be a winner.
The Metro A La Mode Catwalk Fashion Parade will be held at Metro Hotel Ipswich International on 4 August 2010, commencing at 6pm. Tickets are just $35 and are available from the hotel’s reception.
