Metro Hotels, the accommodation division of Transmetro Corporation Limited’s Metro Hospitality Group, has appointed husband and wife team, Dennis and Louise Winchester, to manage its resort property Dugong Beach Resort in Groote Eylandt, Northern Territory.
Dennis Winchester has over 30 years management experience in both international hotel groups such as Hyatt International and as a hotel owner in New Zealand. Dennis was also senior General Manager for Peppers Hotel Group in Australia and was involved in the restructuring of the Group. Throughout his career, Dennis was chairman of the Queenstown Promotion Board New Zealand.
Louise Winchester has an MBA in Hotel Management and has lectured in International Tourism at the University of Western Sydney and the William Blue International Hotel Management School in North Sydney. Louise has a strong background in human resources.
Chief Operating Officer of Metro Hotels, Mr George Bedwani welcomed the appointment of the Winchesters to his management team.

Dugong Beach Resort comprises sixty waterfront rooms and suites, a restaurant, bar, fully equipped function and conference facilities, gymnasium, pool and spa.
This unique eco-resort is the only resort in Australia 100 percent owned and operated by the Groote Eylandt indigenous community, and the only resort built specifically to provide job opportunities for local indigenous people.
