Metro Hotel Ipswich International hosted a Cocktail Reception for 60 people on June 22, 2011 to thank the Ipswich community for supporting the growth of the highly successful Ipswich Festival.

As an important member of the Ipswich community, Metro Hotel Ipswich International encourages other businesses to play a role in helping to increase the attraction of Queensland’s largest regional city for both locals and tourists alike.

As such, it provided the venue, food and beverages free of charge for a thank you Cocktail Reception as its contribution in recognising the role members of the Ipswich community played in ensuring the city and its annual festival continue to grow and flourish.

The Ipswich Festival is a unique event organised by the Ipswich Events Corporation and held annually. The festival strives to harness the power of the local community to showcase the many forms of art in the city as well as the cultural heritage of the region.

Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale and Ipswich Councillors were singled out for mention on the night for their continued drive and enthusiasm for the city, creating a collaborative platform ideal for the cultivation of the Ipswich Festival and ensuring the city will enjoy an exciting future.

Ipswich Events Corporation Executive Chair Paul Casos and his team, including Sylvia Norton and Lowana Moxham, were also noted for their strong contribution to the festival’s success. Lowana recently returned from leave and it was announced her passion for the event “elevated the festival and the city’s major events to new heights”.

Also present at the event were representatives from the Festival’s major sponsors, Suncorp, Apprenticeships Qld, Bendigo Bank, Riverlink Shopping Centre, Commonwealth Bank, Heritage Building Society, Queensland rail, USQ, Harding Martin, Biztopia, Metro Hotel, Lewellyn Motors, Ipswich Civic Centre and Ipswich Turf Club.

As Australia’s oldest, 100% Australian owned and operated hotel chain, the Metro Group is proud to be an active and supportive member of communities in which their hotels operate. Metro Hotel Ipswich International is a prime example of the leading role the Metro Group has in communities.
