Metro Hotel on Pitt has been named a finalist in the Mid-Scale Hotel of the Year category in the prestigious 2016 HM Awards, recognising excellence over a range of categories in the hospitality industry.
The judging panel is made up of over 20 leading travel writers, industry consultants, association heads and selected leading suppliers. Winners will be announced at the HM Awards Gala Presentation Dinner at Sydney Town Hall on September 2, 2016.
The Awards are determined by a 500 word submission outlining major achievements over the last 12 months.
Metro Hotel on Pitt’s Property Manager, Simon Wanstall, said he and his team were delighted the hotel has been named a finalist.
“The hotel has performed outstandingly well this past year, despite operating in a very challenging environment. This includes a full-scale demolition of an adjacent building, and a property undergoing restoration across the road,” Simon said.
“We constantly strive to deliver the best possible experience for our guests. To be named a finalist is recognition of our success in demonstrating our commitment to our guests.”
A 119-room mid-scale hotel located in Sydney’s CBD, Metro Hotel on Pitt completed a major refurbishment in the last year, with all guest rooms and public areas receiving an extensive makeover. The hotel also introduced a number of value-add services, including 24 hour room service, VIP service recognising loyal clients, complimentary access to Anytime Fitness, and complimentary high speed, unlimited Wi-Fi.
The property has also introduced a number of energy saving and environmental protection initiatives, and its manager and staff have volunteered over 250 hours of their time over the last year to help various charities and fundraising initiatives.
