Palace Hotel Sydney

A Popular Stylish and contemporary  dining and entertainment choice for Sydney’s business crowd, theatre goers attending the neighbouring Capitol Theatre and tourists in the CBD.

Palace Hotel Sydney is a favourite place to relax and enjoy a meal or beverage before or after a show at Capitol Theatre or nearby Qantas Arena

Located on the corner of George and Hay Streets, Palace Hotel Sydney has been transformed both internally and externally, converting it into a stylish and contemporary venue while still paying homage to the heritage of the area, particularly the former Palace Hotel which once occupied part of the site.

The front bar off George Street has been renamed the Palace Bar and will continue to appeal to the traditional patrons of the area who enjoy a drink after work.

A contemporary brasserie with seating for 118 patrons forms the heart of the venue. The interior design carries through aspects of the heritage-style Palace Bar with accents of dark timber and polished brass, with the addition of plush modern furnishings in the form of lounges, banquettes, chairs and stools along with dining tables and a framed view of the working kitchen.

The result is a harmonious fusion of dining comfort and kitchen energy, forming the perfect heart for the new Yardhouse Bar and Brasserie.

The new palette of crème, charcoal and maroon is used throughout to marry the heritage elements of the façade and internal bars with the contemporary elements introduced. Externally, the colour palette enhances the elaborate architectural detail of the George Street entrance while providing the venue with a fresh, clean appeal.

Inside, the crème, charcoal and maroon compliment the dark wood paneling, shiny brass decorative beer pipes, high metal plate ceilings and existing architectural fretwork, while mauves and purples have been introduced in the soft furnishings to add a sense of modern comfort and warmth.

A downstairs area has been created specifically for live music. Reggae bands will be featured on Monday evenings while rock bands are expected to prove a popular option for patrons on Friday and Saturday evenings.

All areas can be hired for private functions, providing an opportunity for corporate event managers to combine an evening at the theatre with pre-theatre dinner and drinks in a designated area, or a post-show nightcap
