Groote Eylandt Lodge, managed by Metro Hotels, will be launching Groote Eylandt Sports Fishing packages incorporating residential corporate retreats in late October 2015. The Lodge, situated on the Groote Eylandt archipelago in the Gulf of Carpentaria in the Northern Territory, is owned by the Anindilyakwa People, the traditional land owners of Groote Eylandt, some of whom are employed at the Lodge.
Well-known fishing guide, Andrew Darby, will be overseeing fishing operations. Andrew has been fishing in Northern Territory waters with a passion for the past 20 years, the last seven as a professional guide. He has extensive experience in both bluewater and barra fishing and features in many of the competitive NT fishing events. State of the art vessels provide comfortable speedy access to the top fishing spots. On your return, the Lodge chefs will expertly prepare your catch for dinner.
The Lodge has 74 water’s edge accommodations of various styles set in extensive grounds linked by timber walkways. Amenities include a conference suite, art and cultural centre, day spa and Seagrass Restaurant & Cocktail Bar.
Groote Eylandt Lodge will be working with NT Tourism to promote the new campaign “Million Dollar Fish”. The campaign will see 76 barramundi tagged and released across various fishing location in the Top End. One of them will be carrying $1 million prize tag and the remaining 75 carrying $10,000 cash prize tags. The campaign will run from 1st October 2015 to 29th February 2016.
