Metro Hotels focuses on refurbishing budget Inn brand
Draft Media Release June 20, 2006
Metro Hotels has completed refurbishments to the 3 star Metro Inn Edgecliff in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, the third Metro Inn to receive a facelift in the past 6 months.
"While the past year has seen us focus on acquisitions, we have also been concentrating on consolidating our existing properties. The refurbishment of the Metro Inn Edgecliff is part of the revamp of our 3 star budget Inn brand which is being progressively rolled out across Australia," said Metro Hotel's Chief Operating Officer, Mr Rajeev Dani.
"There is definitely a market for 3 star or budget accommodation. Many people appreciate accommodation without all the bells and whistles provided by some hotels to increase room rates. But that doesn't mean these people have to forsake comfort or all the modern conveniences to which they are accustomed.
"That is why we are gradually refurbishing all of our Inns, beginning with Metro Inn Albany in Western Autstralia last year, Metro Inn Miranda in Sydney's south and now Metro Inn Edgecliff."
Metro Inn Edgecliff has traditionally attracted a broad mix of guests - backpackers, families and seniors, drawn by its 5 star Eastern Suburbs location and 3 star price.
"We have carefully priced the property with rooms from only $79 per night, to make it attractive to those wanting good quality budget accommodation, but close to the sophisticated attractions of Sydney's Eastern Suburbs," said Mr Dani.
Virtually opposite the Edgecliff bus and train hub, Metro Inn Edgecliff is only a10 minute ride away from some of Sydney's most popular and iconic attractions, including Bondi Beach, the shopping neighbourhoods of Paddington, Double Bay and Westfield Bondi Junction and the bars and nightclubs of Kings Cross. Edgecliff Station is only two stops away from Martin Place Station and the heart of the CBD.
All refurbished Metro Inn Edgecliff rooms include an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, telephone, hairdryer, alarm clock and iron with ironing board. Conveniences such as Internet connection (dial up), Foxtel and pay movies are also included. Many rooms have views overlooking the waters of Double Bay and across the Harbour towards Manly.
